ABOUT THE PAINTING
Part of a series of smaller watercolor paintings where I am exploring color relationships and color theory by creating multiple overlapping layers of transparent watercolor washes.
The title was inspired by an article I had read about the discontinuation of Kodachrome film that had inspired the movie Kodachrome which I recently watched on Netflix. It starred Ed Harris, one of my favorite actors (who also portrayed Jackson Pollock in a film in 2000.) I like to often include something in the title from the music that I listen to while painting because the type of music I am playing influences my painting in some mystic way. The day I painted this piece I was listening to some vintage jazz.
